About the Author
Hi, I'm Mark Morgan — children's book author, dreamer, and proud storyteller.
I write fun, heartfelt rhyming stories for kids, like Rusty the Can and Petal the Seed Who Feared to Sprout. My goal is to make kids laugh, think, and grow with every page.
When I’m not writing, I’m dreaming up new adventures, creating coloring pages and recipes for families to enjoy, and turning my stories into songs. I believe storytelling changes lives — one rhyme at a time.
Thanks for visiting my site — I hope you’ll come back often and explore everything I’m building here at Mark Morgan Books!

Rusty the Can

A fun rhyming story about a soda can who gets recycled and finds a new purpose.
Teaches kids about resilience, recycling, and second chances.
Grandpa's Guitar

Petal the Seed

A gentle rhyming story about courage, growth, and blooming at your own pace.
Petal is a little seed who’s scared of the unknown. She hides underground while the other flowers stretch toward the sun. But with a little sunshine, a lot of curiosity, and kind encouragement from above, Petal finds the courage to sprout.
This sweet picture book helps children understand that it's okay to be afraid — and that beautiful things happen when we face our fears and grow.

The Web We
       Weave
A fuzzy, funny, feel-good story that spins a lesson in honesty and heart.
Meet Webster and Winnie, two adorable spider siblings who never quite agree on how to build the perfect web! But when fibs start flying and teamwork unravels, can they learn to come together before their home falls apart?
Bursting with bold, colorful illustrations and clever rhymes, The Web We Weave is a charming story that teaches kids about telling the truth, working as a team, and the beauty of being yourself.
Perfect for bedtime laughs and classroom read-alouds, this story is a sticky-sweet reminder that even the smallest creatures can make something truly great—together.

Why I Write Rhyming Picture Books for Kids
Hi there — and welcome to my brand-new website!
I’m Mark Morgan, a children’s book author who believes a simple rhyme can plant a big idea. I started writing rhyming picture books because I wanted to tell stories that help kids grow up kind, curious, and confident.
My books — like Rusty the Can and Petal the Seed Who Feared to Sprout — are full of colorful characters, gentle life lessons, and just enough silliness to make a child giggle. Whether it’s a rusty can getting recycled or a nervous seed learning to bloom, each story is built to help kids see the beauty in second chances, bravery, and being themselves.
As this blog grows, I’ll be sharing more:
-
Free coloring pages and fun activities 🎨
 -
Easy kid-friendly recipes 🍪
 -
Behind-the-scenes peeks at upcoming books 📚
 -
Maybe even a few songs one day 🎶 (yes, we’re dreaming big!)

Thank you for stopping by. I hope my stories bring joy to your home — and I’d be honored if you shared them with someone you love.
Let’s grow something beautiful together.
– Mark
